2A46 *NEW* Exploring The Works of Emily Carr & Clarence Gagnon
-Adult- | Available
Learn the techniques and secrets of two renowned landscape artists. We’ll begin our exploration of the attributes that distinguished Emily Carr’s landscape works by working on a pre-selected piece. This will involve examining composition, perspective, value, palette choice and paint application. Topics include reviewing mid to large brush strokes, the use of blending and incorporating colour, shadow and highlights. Then, it’s on to a study of the approach and techniques of Clarence Gagnon. Choosing a photo reference of his work, you’ll start in on a larger canvas, incorporating your new knowledge to further develop your own painting style and technique. Lee will work on a large painting in class as a guide and provide individual instruction throughout. Open to all levels – beginner to advanced. Oil or acrylic.
