Two new landscape artists from which we can learn their techniques and secrets. We’ll begin working on a pre-chosen Claude Monet piece as we explore the attributes that made his landscape works stand out – composition, perspective, value, colour mixing and paint application. Topics include reviewing mid to large brush strokes, the use of blending and incorporating colour, shadow and highlights. Then, it’s on to a study of the approach and techniques of Lawren Harris, choosing a photo reference of his work and starting in on a larger canvas, incorporating your new knowledge to further develop your own painting style and technique. Lee will work on a large painting in class as a guide and provide individual instruction throughout. Open to all levels – beginner to advanced. Oil or acrylic.
