3A46 Exploring Landscape with Emily Carr and Her Contemporaries
-Adult- | Available
From soaring B.C. forests to Quebec farmhouses, women artists have explored the inhabited Canadian landscape with energetic designs and colourful palettes. While the Montreal Beaver Hall Group were associates of the Group of 7, their work is less familiar than Emily Carr of Victoria. Starting with Carr, we’ll explore her different styles with drawing and painting exercises and choose one of her paintings to copy. For a second painting, you could copy a Beaver Hall Group work or create your own landscape composition, using one of these artists as reference. Lots of individual attention and instruction provided. Acrylics, oils, or watercolours all suitable. Some painting experience is recommended.
*Please note: there will be no class on February 17th*
Members: $241.89 + HST, Non-Members: $249 + HST. Monday.
