Join us for a whimsical journey into Shakespeare's enchanting comedy, "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Set in an ancient forest filled with mischievous fairies and star-crossed lovers, this timeless tale unfolds with laughter, romance, and magical mischief.


  • Audition workshop (optional) November 27 from 3:15-5:00pm.

    A
    uditions will be November 28 and 29 from 3:15-5:00pm. Callbacks Nov. 30 from 2:15-5pm.

    You will receive a link to sign up for an audition time in your confirmation email after you register your student.

    Parent Meeting December 5 at 5:30pm.

    Rehearsals start December 5. Rehearsals will be: 

    Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3:15-5pm

    Thursdays 2:15-5pm

    Additional rehearsals on Mondays/Saturdays the two weeks before show opening.


    Performances will be February 28 and 29, 2024.


  • Director: Jason Bortz

     

    Jason Bortz is a NorCal School of the Arts teaching artist and is grateful to have trained in Seattle with The Film School's John Jacobsen before traveling to New York to attend the National Shakespeare Conservatory.

    In L.A., he was a core member of the Shakespeare & Friends Foundation performing for “at risk” inner-city schools while working and developing his coaching process “
    Passion to Craft: Your Method.” A founding member of the Capital Film Arts Alliance in Sacramento, Jason has received top awards from Style Magazine’s “Best of the Best”, Sacramento News & Review, the KCRA TV “A” List, and Sacramento Magazine. 

     

    A performer and director of many plays, Jason is also a member of SAG/AFTRA, credited in acting, voiceover, producing, writing and directing in film, television and video games. His short films garnered awards in festivals across the country. Represented by the Bitela Agency, he provides screenplay coverage and served as a guest screenwriting instructor for The Learning Exchange. The greatest position he hass held is Dad to his awesome kids.
