4A65 *NEW* Capturing Light in Watercolours

-Adult- | Available

Add dimension and realism to your botanical subjects using techniques that capture highlights and reflected light. Technique testing is an essential part of preparing for a botanical study. Heather will focus on colour applications for both dull and shiny surfaces. Working from a selection of small subjects, you’ll engage in technique testing exercises and then launch into a study of a single subject. This workshop includes one-on-one time with the instructor and is designed for artists with prior botanical art experience. Participants must already own or purchase a copy of the accompanying e-booklet “Capturing Light, Watercolour" available as an add-on when registering for $20 + HST.

Members: $144.95 + HST, Non-Members: $149 + HST (Prices include $6 material fee)

Heather’s experience in education – thirty plus years as a teacher and principal – shines through in her teaching at DVSA. She shares her knowledge of the fundamentals of traditional botanical art with those who are new to this genre and to aspiring botanical artists. Working primarily in graphite and watercolour, she continues to hone her artistic skills with ongoing study and mentorship under Margaret Best.
