1A26-A *NEW* Botanical Art: Botanical Palette – Mastering Yellow: Coloured Pencil (Online)
-Adult- | Available
Many botanical artists avoid depicting yellow subjects. The main challenge of the colour is achieving brilliance and luminosity while retaining delicacy, especially in petals. It’s so easy to fall into a muddy and messy trap with the wrong pencil or paints and especially in the techniques used with each. These workshops will focus on the various colour options available in permanent pencils and the various pigments in watercolours. Exercises will involve testing a range of techniques that provide solutions for successful results. The timing of this workshop has been planned to offer an opportunity to create an iconic botanical subject – the sunflower. However, there are also many other flower and fruit options that will provide compelling ways to master the drawing/painting of yellow subjects. Note: not a workshop for beginner level botanical artists. Participants are strongly advised to have completed previous classes or the study of the e-booklet Botanical Palette - Warm Hues.
