This friendly, confidence-building camp is the perfect introduction to sewing for young makers. Through fun, hands-on projects like felt bookmarks, charms, beanbag creatures and mini pillows or pouches, the artists will learn the essentials of hand-sewing in a supportive environment. We’ll explore simple stitching techniques, experiment with colorful fabrics and encourage plenty of creative touches along the way. With step-by-step guidance and lots of room for imagination, this week is about developing foundational sewing skills and discovering the joy of making something by hand.

A textile artist and lover of craft, Ariella earned her Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from McMaster University. With a playful touch of humor and a dash of absurdity, Ariella’s teaching entertains, inviting students to delve into whimsical worlds of creativity. Her goal is to spark creativity in others by demonstrating the joy and depth found in the playful exploration of craft.
