Every inspired artist has a story to share, and in this camp, we’ll use the art of expressive comic creation to do so. We’ll begin with character design, exploring how to give our heroes and villains personality and style. Then, we’ll dive into lettering techniques that make dialogue pop and learn the magic of zine folding to create mini-comics. We’ll write original stories, design dynamic backgrounds and experiment with layouts that bring our ideas to life. The week ends with an epic group project – a collaborative comic book to take home and treasure.

Kento Cady
Kento is an engaging and enthusiastic hafu cartoonist and children's art educator based in Hamilton. A graduate of Sheridan College with an Honours Bachelor of Illustration, his work has appeared in numerous exhibitions and publications. Kento brings stories of togetherness to life using materials accessible to young artists, making his art both relatable and inspiring. He's probably working on a zine or comic right now.
