Welcome to a creative world without limits. Using the combined powers of their imaginations and keen observational skills, the young artists will craft bold, original drawings, paintings and sculptures. We’ll explore a variety of drawing tools — pencils, pastels, crayons, ink and fine liners — before diving into vibrant watercolour and acrylic painting. Then, we’ll mix and match our favorite materials to create stunning multi-media works. The adventure continues in 3D as we transform recycled objects into whimsical characters and experiment with clay sculpting. Inspiration will come from everywhere – real and imagined animals, landscapes, famous artists, still-life objects and even collaborative art games. With endless materials and exploration encouraged, we recommend bringing an apron or paint shirt.

Heather Smith
As graduate of McMaster University’s Studio Art Program, Heather brings an abundance of knowledge and creativity to the DVSA studios. Her classes are informative, stuctured and a blast to be in. A favourite with young artists, Heather fosters students to push their boundaries and explore their artistic abilities in an inclusive, comfortable and creative environment.
