Copying a Group of 7 artwork is an ideal way to learn landscape composition as you simplify shapes, mix harmonious colours and create rhythm through expressive brushwork. For your first study, you’ll learn the 4-Stages method consisting of line drawing, creating a tonal map, blocking in colour and then applying brushwork. For a second painting, you’ll select another Group of 7 image or your own composition done in their style. Included are short drawing exercises, demonstrations and group discussions to enhance our understanding. Acrylics, oils or watercolours all suitable. For all levels. *Please note: there will be no class on February 16th *

Diana Gordon
Diana is an artist and archaeologist living in Hamilton. As a painter, she is versed in a wide variety of subjects, techniques and styles, using the works of the art world greats as building blocks for her explorations.
