3A40 *NEW* Exploring The Works of Van Gogh and Franklin Carmichael

-Adult- | Available

Examine the techniques of two iconic landscape artists and unlock new dimensions in your own painting practice. We’ll begin with a guided study of a selected work by Franklin Carmichael, diving into the elements that made his landscapes so distinctive – composition, perspective, value, colour mixing and paint application. You’ll practice mid to large brush strokes, blending techniques, and the use of colour, shadow and highlights to bring depth and atmosphere to your work. Next, we’ll shift focus to the expressive style of Vincent van Gogh. Using a photo reference of your choice from his body of work, you’ll begin a larger canvas piece, applying your newly acquired skills to develop your own unique painting style. Instructor Lee will work on a large painting alongside the class, offering demonstrations and personalized guidance throughout. Open to all levels – from beginner to advanced.

Members: $270.99 + HST, Non- Members: $279 + HST. Wednesday.
