Where does your inspiration come from – and how do you turn it into art? In this active course, we'll explore the foundations of drawing and painting while experimenting with a range of expressive techniques and materials. The goal? To build a personal body of work centered around a theme of your own choosing. We’ll dive into the elements and principles of design, using them to channel inspiration and clarify artistic intent. Studio time will include a mix of guided creative projects and independent exploration, with regular opportunities for feedback and reflection. You’ll be encouraged to maintain a sketchbook practice to develop ideas through preparatory sketches and thumbnails, set creative goals and track the evolution of your unique visual language and style. We’ll also practice the art of constructive critique – learning how to give and receive feedback that helps us all grow as artists. *Please note: there will be no class on February 16th*
