Step into the world of art and magic. In this exciting camp, we’ll explore how colours, shapes and lines can trick the eye to create amazing optical illusions. Using paints, pastels, drawing, collage and more, we’ll design artwork that seems to move, bend or pop right off the page. We’ll look at different artists who use these techniques in their practice and be inspired to create and build our own magic tricks. Perfect for the curious and creative, this studio combines fun art techniques with a touch of visual magic!

Cassandra Ferguson
Cassandra received her MFA from the University of Guelph in 2019 and her BFA from McMaster University in 2015. In her own work, she is fuelled by the seductive character of common objects and manufactured environments, producing sculptures and drawings that reveal an interest in architecture, industrial manufacture and design practices. A gifted instructor, she works primarily with children and teens in the development of their art skills, fostering an engaging and experimental studio.
