Bookbinding can be a very accessible art form and doesn’t require a lot of specific equipment or materials. In this workshop, you’ll learn the art of drum leaf binding, a method of bookmaking that requires no sewing. Instead, the focus is on precise measuring, cutting, folding and gluing to create a unique artist book. There’ll be demonstrations and ample discussion on the basics like paper grain and other considerations. For an optimal workshop experience, participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own large drawing or art print to use in their artist book. If need be, other options will be provided.
