2A76-A Raku Intensive

-Adult- | Available

Spend a week discovering (or re-discovering) the joy and magic of raku pottery. We’ll begin by designing our vessels and forms using both the wheel and handbuilding techniques. These works will then be bisque fired at the school and ready for a full-day of firings on Friday. Thursday promises an exploration of surface design and glaze testing as we warm up the raku kiln and get our first pieces through the kiln. Potters need not have any work prepared in advance – everything will be made throughout the week. Combustibles such as wood shavings, horsehair, feathers and sugar will all be available for the kiln firing, but you may bring your own if preferred. For all levels – newbies to advanced. However, previous clay experience is recommended.

Members: $356.06 + HST, Non-Members: $365 + HST (Prices include $55 firing & glazing fee) Clay extra.
