Gently forward we go on our painting journey as we further explore fundamentals such as composition, value, colour theory, blocking and proportion and apply them to simplified landscape interpretations. We’ll begin with pencil, paper and simple black and white values. From there, it’s learning to see a landscape in terms of four simple values before extending the use of colour. Other topics include learning how to build a solid foundation of shapes by simplifying the composition along with experimenting with overlays, silhouettes, edges and atmosphere – all part of this solid introduction to the basics of landscape painting. No previous painting experience required. *Please note: there will be no class on September 30^th*
