Watercolour technique for botanical art is different from loose and flowing flower painting. Heather will guide participants through a number of exercises using a flower specimen to discover the fundamental techniques for both water and brush control that will set the stage for future botanical watercolour workshops. Recommended pre-requisite: the preceding Introduction to Watercolour – Colour workshop.

Heather Gross
Heather’s experience in education – thirty plus years as a teacher and principal – shines through in her teaching at DVSA. She shares her knowledge of the fundamentals of traditional botanical art with those who are new to this genre and to aspiring botanical artists. Working primarily in graphite and watercolour, she continues to hone her artistic skills with ongoing study and mentorship under Margaret Best. A member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA), Heather's botanical work can be found in several private collections.
