4A55 Exploring Folk Art: Maud Lewis Style
-Adult- | Available
Let’s explore how Nova Scotia’s Maud Lewis made her joyously vibrant images. First, we’ll analyze and draw Maud’s stylized “flat” objects such as boats, flowers and birds. Then, we’ll copy her iconic “Black Cat” and a maritime landscape by painting one colour at a time. We’ll also compare Maud’s style of composition with other Canadian folk artists. You’ll be encouraged to create your own “vocabulary” of simple shapes and colours for individual, personally inspired projects. For all levels.
Members: $296.21 + HST, Non- Members: $305 + HST. Tuesday.
