Learn how to fully observe flowers, then deconstruct and simplify them as we create loose, abstract and impressionistic style paintings using acrylics, oils, pastels, or a combination of media. You’ll study a floral arrangement provided in class and then create a composition of your own – whether it be simplified and loose or completely wild and abstract. Topics covered include colour theory and mixing, composition, brush technique and more. For all levels.

Michelle Guitard
Michelle studied Fine Art at the University of Guelph and York University, and earned her diploma from Georgian College in Design and Visual Arts. She makes her home in Ancaster, ON and teaches painting workshops not only at DVSA, but around the country and internationally. With a focus on landscapes, birds and painting en plein air, her pieces can be found worldwide in private and corporate collections and are a highlight of the DVSA Art Auction.
