Develop your skills to accurately render 3-D objects in paint with an emphasis on contrast, light and shadow and colour. In this online course, class time will be dedicated to reviewing the materials for working in acrylic or oil and examining the foundations of composition. Painting technique instruction includes outlining, underpainting, the mixing and blending of colours, and building texture. There’ll also be time for group discussions and critiques. You’ll work on your paintings outside of the scheduled class time and then send photos of your artwork to the instructor for in-class feedback. Be prepared to spend at least two hours painting outside of class each week. Links to demo videos will also be provided as optional learning outside of class. For beginner to intermediate students.
