Discover the basics of illustration for graphic novels. Over the two studio sessions, you’ll go from thumbnails to a finished page as we explore concepts such as composition, storytelling, how to interpret a script, digital tools, perspective, aesthetics and rendering. Sara will cover drawing digitally from start to finish and demonstrate the tools she uses. Participants are encouraged to follow along on paper with pencil and ink or work digitally if you have a tablet. A basic understanding of anatomy, cartooning and perspective is recommended.
