Discover the depth, texture and beauty to be found in the mosaic medium – the art of creating with an assemblage of pieces of coloured glass, stone or other materials. Over four sessions, you’ll have the chance to design 3 to 5 small works developed as a series which allows for an in-depth exploration of materials to create a cohesive body of work. Connections between the works are achieved using design elements such as colour, texture, line, shape, cutting and laying techniques and more. Instruction includes preparing substrates, cutting with specialty tools, adhesives for a variety of materials and design considerations. Additional instruction will be provided on texturizing and colouring interesting backgrounds. Suitable for mosaic beginners or those with some experience who want to up their game.
