Amanda will walk you through a step-by-step approach in the fundamental principles of portrait painting from photographs. Learn to simplify the process as you paint portraits with personality using strong colour choices and composition. Topics include choosing a good reference, drawing a sketch, measurements and proportion, value, colour temperature, background considerations and much more. Different approaches like blocking in and gridding off will also be introduced. You’ll leave with a good “starter kit” of tools and techniques along with a nice boost of confidence, ready to embark on painting more portraits. This class is ideal for beginner to intermediate artists.
