This week-long session in the studio is all about experimentation and will challenge your understanding of what art can be. We’ll investigate different artistic mediums, materials, concepts and dimensions, moving between 2-D and 3-D projects while finding inspiration in art history, the world around us and from our own imaginations. Drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and sculpture are our mediums as we develop technical skills in drawing activities, learn about colour theory, try innovative and experimental techniques for painting/drawing and discover the practical mechanics and processes used in building 3-D forms. Most importantly, this week will expand your material “vocabulary” as we explore pastels, charcoal, acrylic and watercolour paints, paper mâché and more. An intensive and very fun week, sure to pop your creative thinking out of the box.
