Spend a week discovering (or re-discovering) the joy and magic of raku pottery. We’ll begin by designing our vessels and forms using both the wheel and handbuilding techniques. These works will then be bisqued at the school and ready for a full-day of firings on Friday. Thursday promises an exploration of surface design using prepared blanks and tiles. Potters need not have any work prepared in advance – everything will be made throughout the week. Combustibles such as wood shavings, horsehair, feathers and sugar will all be available for the kiln firing, but you may bring your own if preferred. Some pottery experience needed.
