3A66 *NEW* Interpreting the Value of Colour in Graphite – Finding Middle Ground

-Adult- | This program is completed

This is the third graphite workshop in the series of understanding colour and value relationships. Many newcomers to realistic rendering seek safety in middle value colour portrayal out of a fear of creating results either too pale or too dark. However, deliberately choosing to portray the middle value ranges with both subtlety and depth in red, green, certain middle value browns and greys is far more challenging than it appears. The workshop also draws together all three values required in realism – pale, medium and dark. Participants will be responsible for bringing their own botanical specimens to this workshop. A list of suitable botanical subjects – fruit, vegetable or flower, will be emailed prior to the workshop. Newcomers to botanical art are welcome, however participants must be fully comfortable with the accurate drawing of an actual plant specimen. Participants must already own or purchase a copy of the accompanying e-booklet “The Value of Colour – Middle Ground & Full Range,” available as an add-on when registering for $20 + HST.

Members: $135.07 + HST, Non-Members: $139 + HST. Saturday & Sunday.
