This course will have you exploring how to render our feathered friends while working in oils or acrylics. Using photographic references, we’ll cover the basic techniques of conveying shape, light source, quality of line and shading using the tools, techniques and materials of your chosen medium. From close-up sketches and painting in detail, to rendering the full body of your chosen bird, we’ll delve into the means of fully capturing these sometimes elusive subjects. Previous painting experience required.
Members: $155.47 + HST, Non-Members: $159 + HST (Prices includes facility rental fee). Monday.
Michelle Teitsma
Originally trained in classical animation, Michelle is a spark plug in the studio, bringing a strong foundation of drawing and painting skills along with experience in a wide range of media. She now works exclusively in oil with her artwork collected both nationally and abroad. Unafraid to assign a fun painting challenge, Michelle is dedicated to making each class a positive experience for her students and delivers her lessons with a style that is cheerful and encouraging.
