Learn the basic mixed media and watercolour painting techniques for illustrating a travel diary. A watercolour journal is ideal for capturing travel memories and experiences, both large and small. No matter the medium, daily sketching practice is a vital method for developing your abilities as an artist – cultivating your artist’s eye and developing drawing technique and colour theory knowledge. We’ll start with simple compositions like a window or small vignette, exploring colour use and creating elements like shadows, pencil and fine pen sketches. Then we’ll add text to give personality and style to your work. All levels welcome.
