Explore techniques for painting using both brushes and palette knives. You’ll develop your skills in paint application, the layering of colour, value mapping and mark making techniques. We will also focus on what makes a strong composition and how to loosen up your approach to painting while exploring colour theory through a limited palette and its endless possibilities. We’ll start with smaller studies and then take those ideas to a larger scale. All levels welcome.

Guitard, Michelle

Michelle studied Fine Art at the University of Guelph and York University, and earned her diploma from Georgian College in Design and Visual Arts. She makes her home in Ancaster, ON and teaches painting workshops not only at DVSA, but around the country and internationally. With a focus on landscapes, birds and painting en plein air, her pieces can be found worldwide in private and corporate collections and are a highlight of the DVSA Art Auction.
