Copying a Group of 7 is an ideal way to learn landscape composition: simplifying shapes, mixing harmonious colours, and creating rhythm through expressive brushwork. In your first work, you’ll learn the 4-Stages method: line drawing, creating a tonal map, blocking in colour, then applying brushwork. For a second painting, choose another Group of 7 image, or your own composition using their style. Included are short drawing exercises, demonstrations, and group discussions to enhance our understanding. Acrylics, oils, or watercolours all suitable. For all levels.
