Learn the basics of wood carving as you carve your own bird in basswood and paint it with watercolour. Demonstrations on carving techniques along with direct individual instruction will have you shaping your own original bird sculpture. We’ll then finish the carvings with paint using thin watercolours to preserve the look of the wood. In class, you’ll receive a wood block, black and white and coloured patterns, plus paint and finishing supplies – you’ll need to bring your own carving knife and simple wood gouges.
