Replicating a work by the Group of 7 is an ideal way to learn landscape composition: simplifying shapes, mixing harmonious colours and creating rhythm through expressive brushwork. For your first study, you’ll learn the 4-Stages method: line drawing, creating a tonal map, blocking in colour, then applying brushwork. For a second painting, choose a Group of 7 “plein air” image to experience the excitement of capturing a landscape quickly. Included are short drawing exercises, demonstrations and group discussions to enhance our understanding. Acrylics, oils or watercolours all suitable. For all levels.

Members: $238.16 + HST, Non-Members: $245 + HST (Price includes a $5 material fee)
