Using your ideas, references and sketches for inspiration, we’ll explore the processes of underpainting and layering as we take a painting from commencement to completion. The focus will not only be on developing strong composition, colour balance and technique, but also working through the creative blocks and frustrations that come with making a work of art. Instructor and class critiques will be an important part of the week. If using reference material, bring your own photographs (taken by you) to keep our paintings original. Some drawing experience as well as familiarity with acrylic paints are prerequisites.
