Learn the basic mixed media and watercolour painting techniques for illustrating a travel diary. A watercolour journal is ideal for capturing travel memories and experiences, both large and small. No matter the medium, daily sketching practice is a vital method for developing your abilities as an artist – cultivating your artist’s eye and developing drawing technique and colour theory knowledge. We’ll start with simple compositions like a window or small vignette, exploring colour use and creating elements like shadows, pencil and fine pen sketches, and text, to add personality and style to your work.
