A one day drawing workshop with a focus on understanding the physical structure of an orchid – not only the blooms and buds, but also the leaves and roots. Line drawings to achieve accuracy of proportion and perspective will be covered. All skill levels welcome. Tuesday. Course Fee: $185 includes a $20 material fee. Limit: 15 students

Internationally renowned botanical artist Margaret Best offers workshops that allow students of all levels to explore the challenges of creating realistic drawings and paintings of seasonally-themed plants. Her own botanical artwork has not only been exhibited worldwide, but also commissioned by the Royal Canadian Mint to be featured on commemorative coins. With a nurturing teaching style, she encourages confidence in beginners while skillfully identifying where intermediate and advanced artists need to focus in order to progress to higher technical levels.
