This is an 80 minute class open to students in 5th to 12th grades. This will be offered in the fall semester only.
Students will be provided with cake decorating supplies to keep. They will need to provide consumables such as frosting, cakes, cupcakes, etc.
In this 13-session Beginning Cake Decorating course, students will learn the fundamentals of transforming simple cakes into beautifully decorated creations. Designed for beginners, this hands-on class introduces essential techniques in a fun, supportive environment where creativity can flourish.
Students will start with the basics, including proper frosting techniques, piping skills, and how to use common decorating tools. As their confidence grows, they will explore a variety of designs such as borders, lettering, simple flowers, and themed decorations.
Throughout the course, students will also learn practical skills like color mixing, working with different icing consistencies, and planning a cohesive cake design. Each session builds on the last, giving students plenty of opportunity to practice and refine their techniques.
By the end of the course, students will complete a decorated cake and gain the skills and confidence to continue decorating at home for celebrations, gifts, or even future business ventures.
