Novel Study: Exploring Empathy & Kindness through Wonder
Class | Available
In this book study class, students will journey through R.J. Palacio's Wonder, the fictional story of Auggie Pullman—a boy with a unique appearance starting school for the first time. Through Auggie’s experiences, students will explore themes of kindness, empathy, and friendship. We’ll discuss how our actions can make a big impact on others, examine the effects of bullying, and reflect on ways to build a welcoming community.
Each week, we’ll read select passages together in class and engage in lively discussions and activities.
Students should also expect to read assigned chapters at home to keep up with our pace.
This class is a chance to celebrate our differences and learn the power of choosing kindness in our everyday lives.
A hard bound copy of the book will be provided.
