Sixteen Bars of Me
Community Class | Available
This creative music program invites artists to explore their voice and identity through the power of short-form music. Using iPads and accessible digital tools, participants will produce and record their own 16-bar musical piece — whether it’s a verse, chorus, spoken word, loop, or melody. Artists shape their track from the ground up, making something that reflects who they are, one bar at a time.
Over the course of the program, participants will gain experience in beatmaking, lyric writing, digital composition, and basic recording techniques. The outcome: a short but powerful original track that tells a personal story through sound.
No prior experience required! NaAC Sixteen Bars of Me is for people 16 and older and is open to mixed-ability participants and community members.
You’ll enjoy this class if you love experimenting with music, expressing your story through sound, or discovering your creative voice in new ways.
