In the Young Artists Program (YAP), Fleisher offers low-cost classes for young people ages 5 to 18 designed to develop artistic skills, foster engagement with the arts, encourage self-expression, and build confidence as a creative person. Over 100 classes in a range of media are offered throughout the year, allowing children and youth to experience hands-on art-making in a supportive and enriching environment.

The Young Artists Program has a tiered program fee. Alongside the non-refundable $65 base program fee, please consider paying an additional amount (up to $130 total) during the registration process. Opting to pay the higher program fee allows the program's base fee to stay accessible to more Philadelphians. Payment is due at the time of registration. Medium Description:
In this class, students will learn how to draw the human figure through guided exercises and traditional drawing mediums, including charcoal, oil pastel, and colored pencil. The first half of the class will be focused on observational drawing from live models to build an understanding of anatomy, gesture, and proportions, and then in the second half we will use this knowledge to practice illustrating characters from our imaginations.

This class is best suited for students who have some prior drawing experience and are ready to build on their existing skills. It is recommended students take Drawing Fundamentals: Shapes & Shadows, or an equivalent observational drawing class first.

The teacher speaks Mandarin and English.
