Do you want to make your own jump rings?
If you are a chain mail maker and/or jeweler whom wants to:
- take control of the creation process from wire to weave
- learn to make large batches of jump rings
- develop a more intimate role in the chainmail process
- save money by making instead of buying jump rings
- branch into bench jewelry and metalworking through chain mail
- be able to make jump rings on demand
- take this workshop for any reason
then this workshop is for you!
What You Will Learn:
- the types of metals you can use
- the types of wire you can use or make
- the different tempers (grades of hardness) of wire
- how to anneal, roll, and draw (downsize) wire
- various ways of coiling wire
- different methods of cutting coils into jump rings
- methods of polishing jump rings
- 2 sets of pliers (buying and/or bringing your own pliers is optional but encouraged)
Bent nose pliers should specifically be jeweler's pliers and smooth/flat without teeth/serrations.

No additioanl supplies necessary, all will be provided, including wire.
Bring your own 14, 16, or 18 gauge brass or copper wire (optional).
Nox Wulong
Nox Wulong (they/them/theirs) is a metalsmith, sculptor, bench jeweler, jewelry designer, and multi-disciplinary artist. They have a BFA from the University of the Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture, as well as having apprenticed with a goldsmith on Jeweler's Row. Nox's teaching history includes teaching drawing to young children, chainmail to teenagers at Fleisher's Teen Art Lounge, and has lectured as a guest lecturer and teacher assistant at the University of the Arts.
