Digital Animation

Animation is a medium not a genre! In this class you will learn how to create animation using a computer. This course will give a deep grounding in the methods and principles of traditional animation. Throughout this class you will view short films, experiment with a variety of techniques, participate in group discussions, and create a number of short films of your own devising.
What You Will Learn:
- Expanded knowledge of the medium of animation and all its potential.
- Understanding of the technical processes involved in creating cel based animation. Ability to analyze movement and convey emotion and meaning through a series of drawings.- Grounding in the process of creating a finished work from start to finish. This process will include idea gathering, writing, storyboarding, roughs, iteration, finals, and critique.
Seth McKeever
Seth McKeever is an artist currently living in Philadelphia. He received a BFA in Sculpture and Animation from Tyler School of Art, and was also awarded a CARAS Grant and a Sculpture Project Award. His work is primarily experimental animation with an introspective, narrative bent.
