Adult Tuition-Free Class | Registration opens Monday, July 13, 2026 8:00 AM EDT
INDIE HORROR
While mainstream critics dismiss the genre and awards show have historically overlooked it, horror films regularly surprise Hollywood with their enduring box-office appeal. While major studios produce their own horror films, many of the most memorable and successful films in the genre have historically been created as independent productions, compensating for their smaller budgets with cleverness and imagination. This class will take a look at over fifty years of independent horror, examining the collaborators who made the films and the discussing the underlying fears that the films hope to channel.
