Explore the art of weaving in this five-week class designed for beginners and those looking to strengthen their foundational skills. Using a rigid heddle loom, students will learn the complete weaving process, from warping the loom to creating finished cloth. Through guided projects and exercises, participants will develop an understanding of weaving structure, pattern, color, and texture while building confidence in their technical skills and creative decision-making.

What You Will Learn:
- The parts and function of a rigid heddle loom.

- How to measure, plan, and warp a loom.
- Fundamental weaving techniques and structures, including balanced weave and simple patterning.
- How color, texture, and yarn choice influence woven cloth.
- Techniques for finishing and caring for handwoven textiles.
- Strategies for designing and planning future weaving projects.

  • Please bring sketchbook and pen/pencil to the first class. Most supplies are included in registration. Any additional materials needed will be discussed by the instructor during the first class and may include specialized yarn and similar materials for the students individual projects.
