Stop Motion Animation

Dive into one of the earliest forms of filmmaking in this hands-on stop-motion animation course. Students will learn capture software, camera operation, and mixed-media sculpture while creating captivating animated works of art. With the right mix of patience and creativity, you'll discover how to tell stories through this distinctive and rewarding art form.
What You Will Learn:
- Mastering fundamental stop-motion techniques.
- Analyzing the pros and cons of working with stop-motion.
- Creating miniature puppets and sets using a variety of mixed media.
- Understanding and applying the 12 principles of animation to enhance your work.

Required Supplies:
- If you have an iPad with a working camera, please being this with you to the first day of class - this is not required but highly recommended
- Sketchbook and pen/pencil
- - Class armature kit (less than $7 per student) - we will go over this list the first day of class
- Drill
- Quick grip clamps
- Model Magic
- Various craft supplies as needed (construction paper, poster paper, buttons, glue, cardboard, etc.)
