Ready to explore oil painting? This class introduces the fundamentals of working with this rich and versatile medium. Learn how to mix color, build an effective palette, and develop paintings from direct observation. Through exercises you'll explore techniques for creating depth, luminosity, texture, and surface variation while building confidence with paint.

Who This Class is For:

Please note: There is no class scheduled for 9/21 (Yom Kippur) or 10/12 (Indigenous Peoples' Day).
-Canvases 9x12 or larger
- Palette - wood, glass, or gray paper palette pad
- Odorless paint thinner
- Jar with lid
- Linseed oil
- Brushes in a variety of sizes and shapes
- Paper towel roll or rags
- Paints: Titanium White, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Orange Hue, Cerulean Blue, Cadmium Red Hue, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Dioxazine Purple. Highly recommend Blick’s line of Utrecht paints.
