  • Please bring the materials below to our first class. Brand suggestions are intended to guide students who don’t own materials; if you already own some of these materials, there is no need to go out and get a specific brand. If you have any questions about materials, do not hesitate to reach out with questions.

-Paint: Any set of artist-quality watercolors (pans or tubes) will work for this class. Try to find a set with 10 colors. Some brand suggestions are Daniel Smith, Windsor and Newton, Van Gogh and Holbein, but any brand will do.
-Brushes: Two to three "round" watercolor brushes between sizes 1 and 12. I'd recommend Princeton Velvet Touch, but any watercolor brushes will do.
-Paper: Any watercolor paper pad 9"x12" or smaller will work for this class. Try to find a 140 lb, cold press pad with 24 pages or more. Recommended brands are Canson, Strathmore, or Farbriano, but any brand will do.
-3”x4” watercolor pad, same specs as above (optional)
-Set of pencils with 2B, HB, and 2H
    -White rubber eraser
    -1” Blue tape (optional)
-Rags or a roll of paper towels (optional). We have brown paper towels in the studio if you’re okay with using those.
    -Plastic palette with wells
    -Two clean cups/containers for water
