Chainmail Jewelry (4 Sessions)

In this introductory class, students will learn 4 or more chainmail weaves (patterns). From these weaves, students will have the opportunity to craft a chainmail piece of their own such as jewelry, accessories, or start working on garment/armor. All materials will be provided, including pliers. No prior experience is required.
What You Will Learn:
- Chainmail concepts- Proper use of jewelry pliers- Opening, closing, and linking jump rings- 4 or more chainmail weaves
- 2 sets of pliers (buying and/or bringing your own pliers is optional but encouraged)
Bent nose pliers should specifically be jeweler's pliers and smooth/flat without teeth/serrations.

Nox Wulong
Nox Wulong (they/them/theirs) is a metalsmith, sculptor, bench jeweler, jewelry designer, and multi-disciplinary artist. They have a BFA from the University of the Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture, as well as having apprenticed with a goldsmith on Jeweler's Row. Nox's teaching history includes teaching drawing to young children, chainmail to teenagers at Fleisher's Teen Art Lounge, and has lectured as a guest lecturer and teacher assistant at the University of the Arts.
