Program Description

Curious about a sewing machine sewing? This quick pillow cover project will give you a taste of what a sewing machine can do! Participants will make an envelope style pillow cover for a standard 20x20" pillow.

What You Will Learn:
- The basics of how to use a sewing machine
- How to cut and pin fabric for sewing
- How to sew a seam

Required Supplies

- All supplies are included with enrollment
- A variety of fabric will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own if you are looking for a specific material. You will need approximately a 3/4 yard of fabric.

Instructor

Andrea Arts

Andrea Arts is a Philadelphia based artist originally from the Midwest. She received her BA in studio art from The College of Wooster and is currently an MFA candidate in fibers and material studies at Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Working across disciplines, Andrea is currently exploring ideas of truth, artifice, power, and clowns through the lens of Shakespeare.
