Stained Glass: All Levels

Adult Class | Registration opens Monday, July 6, 2026 8:00 AM EDT

This stained glass class is designed for students of all levels. Those with prior experience will be able to expand their skills and take on more complex projects. Learners are encouraged to bring ideas for small two- and three-dimensional works, though pre-made designs will also be available. Examples include mirror frames, votive holders, jewelry, sculptural objects, and traditional stained glass panels. Projects can be adapted to withstand the chemicals and heat involved in the process, with guidance provided at the start of class. Advanced glass cutting, assembly, and soldering techniques will be demonstrated and practiced, resulting in completed projects. Historical context and advanced design concepts will be discussed throughout to support creative development.

What You Will Learn:
- Advanced sheet glass handling and cutting techniques

- Copper foil assembly
- Soldering and finishing techniques
- Design development for two- and three-dimensional stained glass
- Strategies for working safely with heat, chemicals, and fragile materials

Please note: The studio fee helps cover the ongoing cost of tools and shared materials provided in the course, including soldering irons, solder, flux, glass cleaner, and a variety of hand tools. The glass fee covers access to a selection of glass and other materials available for student use; however, students will likely need to purchase additional glass to complete their projects.
