One of a Kind Screenprint (PM)
Adult jumpstART Workshop | Available
Explore the immediacy of this one-of-a-kind monoprinting and screen-based process. Participants will create printed images using Caran d’Ache water-soluble crayons, soft graphite, and a range of monoprinting techniques to build layered drawings and textures. The workshop emphasizes simple, direct methods and encourages experimentation with an extensive collection of textures for rubbings made directly on the screen. No pre-planned imagery is required, as the focus is on discovery and play, though participants are welcome to bring sketches or images as source material if desired.
Justin Keller
Justin J. Keller (born in Montgomery County, 1999) is a printmaker, visual artist, educator and archivist currently working in Philadelphia. His practice revolves around the understandings and misunderstandings we experience when observing our familial lineage and communities we reside in . Comprehending history in any context requires access to accurate documentation of the location, people, architecture, etc. of whichever time period we are currently investigating. When we attempt to impart that knowledge to other human beings it often leads to miscommunication and misinformation. Keller uses this space of illegibility as inspiration for his multi-layered works. Keller graduated from Tyler School of Art with a BFA in Printmaking in 2022. He has taught printmaking at several institutions along with facilitating his own educational public printmaking workshops .
